Look up Bhutan on the map and you'll soon realize why it is quite isolated and with its own unique culture. Paro, where we landed, is in a beautiful valley surrounded by high mountains. The buildings have a unique look and architecture which hasn't changed in centuries.

The only sign of a modern World is the airport with its whopping runway which divides the town. Most houses are two-story where the upper floor is for living and the lower floor is for the cattle. 90% of the population farms for their own use.
We visited Paro Dzong (see top photo above), a fort and monastery. Monks were everywhere.
On arrival at our hotel, we were greeted with some local entertainment.
It's hard to describe this place. Go there, you'll love it.
