Next day we rose again at 5am and took an early morning drive to see the wildlife. We then boarded a plane which took us to the Okavanga delta region of Botswana for more animal sightings, accompanied by Derek and Beverly Jobert - famous for their scientific work and documantaries on the big cats (lions, cheetas, leopards). The accomodations here were even more basic - tent cabins, sporadic electricity, no phone or internet.

On Friday, we rose, again, at 5am for the early morning safari. This are was really different from the kalahari region. It had lush undergrowth and a more diverse selection of wildlife. Plus the Jobert's were really interesting and gracious hosts.

In the afternoon, we took a helicopter ride over the delta - quite thrill, followed by a talk from the Jobert's, dinner then crashed to bed, exhausted.
