April 25 - Sri Lanka to Madagascar

By now we’re getting used to complicated and long journeys. We left the hotel and drove to a nearby airforce base. We boarded the helicopters again, this time they took us straight to the International airport. We went through five different security checks before boarding our plane for the journey to Antananarivo, Madagascar. Along the way we flew over the Maldives and marveled at the spectacular sight of the coral reefs, soon to disappear with sea level rise (hopefully not before we get there in a few days). We crossed the equator for the third time and arrived at Antanarivo, Madagascar in the evening. More food and music. Carol and I finally hit the wall and crashed around 8:30pm. I’ll leave it to the reader to figure out how many time zones we had passed in the last few days.
