We were warned this would be a long day. After our hiking adventure, we checked out of the hotel and got the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. There we had lunch then boarded the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there we would take the bus back to Cusco.
But first, the train journey. It sounds bizarre but we got a fashion show, right on the train. Seriously. MC’d by a scary monster who went around wakening everybody up.
These were the same folks who served us drinks and snacks a few minutes before. After the show they came up the isle and did a roaring trade selling all sorts of Alpaca clothes. For those who were still exhausted after the hike (no names mentioned), all this commotion (to very loud music) wasn’t exactly welcome. But unique.
