November 8 - Nizwa Fort & Bahla Fort

This morning we visited a couple of forts. The first was Nizwa Fort, a mud brick structure dating back to the 12th century.

While the fort was interesting, the site was mostly a "souk" - selling all kinds of stuff and the fort was this incidental thing in the middle.

The second stop was to Bahla Fort (in Bahla). This is a fine example of a midieval oasis settlement.

As the morning moved on, things started to get busier, with hoards of school kids.

And, of course, another photo op with Malik as model.
