Today (excl Mark & Mauree Jane, I can’t remember what they did) we all went on our first hike. We chose the so-called Condor hike. This was a 3-4 mile hike up a local mountain with great views from the summit. We would see Condors and Eagles as well as get a taste for the local countryside. It was also a good time to calibrate on what level of hike the guides classified as “easy” or “moderate or “difficult”. This was considered a “moderate” hike. It felt quite challenging to me & Carol! Nevertheless, the view from the summit was stunning.
Here you see our guide who had obviously done this several hunderd times!
We descended through a forest to our van and had some well deserved refreshment.
That afternoon, I took a cooking class at the hotel. With some help, I made empanadas in the hotel kitchen. I was the only participant so I got personal attention. We made lamb ones and also king crab (which is big in Patagonia, and with me). After cooking them, the rest of our group conveniently showed up to help in consuming them. I have the recipes if you would like them.
Thanks whoever took this photo and shared it.
That evening we signed up for the special barbeque dinner. Fun evening!
