There are two classes of lenses for the V2 to consider. First, are wide-mid range primes with wide apertures. The second are telephoto lenses for long reach. The first category are useful for landscape and portrait work and are the target lenses used to match the quality of the D800E for 8X10 prints. Below is a chart showing how the V2 lenses overlap the full frame range.
The second category is interesting because the V2, with a telephoto lens, can achieve 2.7X the "native" focal length of the lens thus creating a very compact set-up for long-telephoto applications. See Nikon V1,V2
